The Cambodia Charitable Trust is a charitable trust made up entirely of volunteers and was registered as a Charitable Trust with the New Zealand Charities Commission on 30 June 2008 under the Charities Act 2005.
The Cambodia Charitable Trust was founded in June 2008 by Denise Arnold with a dedicated group of like-minded people. Theresa Gattung is our Patron. Theresa has always been a champion of young women and to combine this passion with achieving education for all and fighting against poverty is something Theresa believes in.
Current Board members are: Theresa Gattung, Patron, Trustees: Denise Arnold, Solicitor, Don Pilbrow, Chartered Accountant, Jan Beange, Solicitor, Marie Petersen, Educational Psychologist and Marie Grills, Solicitor.
The Trust is based in Tauranga, but has supporters throughout New Zealand with a particularly active group in Wellington. We have active partnerships with other organisations including Eva's Attic which is a charity based in Wellington which Theresa Gattung and Margaret Doucas established Eva's Attic. selling preloved and end of line designer clothing to support charitable projects. We represent Eva's Attic in our UP Market, fair trade store in Bethlehem, Tauranga.
The trust was a natural step to extend the informal support the team had already been providing to causes within Cambodia. Our focus is on achieving quality education for children in rural Cambodia. The formation of the trust is proving to be an excellent forum to make a larger impact on the ground in Cambodia by involving more donors, both individuals and businesses.
We are open to have new team members come and work with us! If you have a particular skill that you think we could use, please send us an outline of your ideas and explain how you can help us.
